Description/Inspiration: I had been wanting to do a mermaid piece for the longest time and desperately needed a break from doing canine portraits. I had came across a terrific stock photo by Virna Lamour stock on Deviant art ( http://virnalamour-stock.deviantart.com/ ) a while ago and it immediately started whispering "Mermaid!!!" to me. The Ocean Fantasies art show was just the perfect reason to do a mermaid painting. I think the timing was all serendipity :)
